Well, we've begun another school year! I can't believe our big guy is in the Fourth Grade this year! (sniff, sniff) He had to move off my hall this year...He's already loving BOTH his teachers! He likes that he gets to change classrooms halfway through the day.
Logan got to come to my school this week for the 4K screening (Thursday). It was scheduled during my planning time so I got to meet him and Roger for it! They took him in the room, and we stayed out in the hallway to fill out the papers. I, of course, peeked in the window and he seemed to be doing great! They came out with him about 25 minutes later, and we thought he was done...until we saw the tears! We still aren't sure what made him upset (he said he had a tummyache), but he did go back in (with Daddy too!) and finished. The teacher testing him told Roger that Logan was the only kid to get ALL the rhyming words right! So....WAHOO for him there, but AHHHH that means he won't get to come to my school with me! We got the bittersweet phone call on Friday afternoon saying, "While it was a pleasure to meet Logan, he scored too high to qualify for our 4K program..."
Really, I knew the chances of him getting in based on scores was VERY slim because he is smart (if I say so myself), but I was REALLY hoping he'd be able to come to save me an HOUR of time every morning!!! So, looks like another year of waking up before 5 AM for me....but, on the flip side of that....this means he gets to go to Springdale and be in Mrs. Merri's class!!!! YEAH! She was WONDERFUL with Austin, and I can't wait to help jump start Logan's education there in the same way! We have Orientation on September 2nd...after Logan's allergy doctor appointment (which we are NOT looking forward to either!!!).
This morning we also had the remainder of Austin's first football game. We actually started it on Tuesday, and part way through the 2nd Quarter the bottom fell out the sky, or maybe I should say the rain was exploded out by the EXTREME lightning....so we had to continue the game this morning! Austin's team won 18-6 (with the 2nd and 3rd string mostly playing today)! Go Wolverines!!!
This time I have pictures I have been taking for the posts, but I left my camera in my classroom....ugh! I am soon going to invest in a better camera for home, and then I can just leave the other one at school! So, no pictures to post this time...but I will try to get on here again this week to put some on here! We've been REALLY busy with football and school, but so far, so good!!!!!

Sportsarama
Lining up on the field for the first play!
Just a quick post a few pictures from Sportsarama tonight! Austin did pretty good! They played Batesburg-Leesville, and the game ended 0-0! It was only a short 15 minute running clock game, but we had the ball LOTS of the time! Looks to be a promising season for the team and for Austin! Go Wolverines!!! I'll take more "real" pictures at his next game on Tuesday, but here are a couple! Oh, he's #56!
Hard to tell where he is, but since I took the picture I know he's on the left side of the picture, but on the right helping to double team the other team's guy!
A sweaty picture after the game!
We look forward to seeing "whole, real" games very soon!!! Yeah, Austin!!! Good job!

Austin's 9th B-Day (pictures to follow soon)
Our Proud Birthday Boy!!!
Today had to be one of the easiest parties ever, but also one where all the kids seem to have blast and got along great! The only bad thing about an August b-day is the heat, but since the kids were all in the pool they didn't even notice! I can't believe I have to admit this, (and I feel TERRIBLE) but I didn't use my camera today at all...which is so UNLIKE me!!! However, there are plenty pictures (and even video) thanks to Uncle Mike!!! I wasn't feeling 100% so I let Uncle Mike fill in for me!
Austin truly has had a wonderful birthday! He's loving his guitar, and we went to Walmart this evening for him to be able to spend some of his gift cards/money. I have to say I was impressed he didn't want everything in sight! He decided on a Wii game, a PS3 game, and a Discovery Channel Dinosaur Movie for now, and he wants to save the rest for later! Smart boy!!! Funny how when it's THEIR money they spend they seem to understand the value much better than when it's our money we spend!Logan (amazingly) did well on our trip too understanding that it was Austin's b-day, and he only asked to put stuff on his "wish list!" (Phew!)
We teased Austin about being "Fake 9" because he was the one that started the "Fake 5" thing for Logan, but he turns "Real 9" tomorrow...wow! My oh my, how he's grown up so quickly! I seriously do remember when he was in my belly, and it really doesn't seem all that long ago!
We're into my last week of summer (sniff, sniff), and it's already busy with "stuff" and even me going to work a couple of days this week. The thing I dread the most for this week is Logan's well visit (complete with shotssss...uh-oh!). He says he's going to try to be brave so he can get a surprise! One of the things we are looking forward to the most is Austin's Sportsarama on Tuesday! They are having it at White Knoll High School, and he's so excited to play on that field!!! I'll take pictures of him in uniform this week and post a picture of that (along with some b-day photos too once I get them!). Thanks to everyone that helped us celebrate (including those of you that couldn't make it but still thought about him/us!!!)!!!
