The Beginning of the "Fake 5" Celebration and Daddy's B-day!

So, this wasn't a planned thing...we went to Monterray's tonight with Haylee just to eat. Logan's topic of conversation was his "Fake 5" party that is coming up on Wednesday. As mentioned in an eariler post, we're actually going to begin celebrating his birthday with friends around his half birthday so that he can enjoy the parties like his big brother. It also helps spread out all his gifts so that he's not getting it ALL on one day (Christmas Day birthday is tough!!!) It was Haylee's idea to tell the waiter it was Logan's b-day. They came out with their instruments playing and singing Happy Birthday (to "poncho") and put the big sombrero on him! He grinned the whole time, and then when they walked away he said "I'm a little embarrassed!" Such a cutie! The big Star Wars party will be here before we know it, and I'll post pics from that later this week!

This week was Roger's b-day too! I'm sure he's loving that I am posting his age for everyone to see, but I had to show off the cake that Logan made (almost by himself)! It sure was yummy!

Beach Pics as Promised & Our Garden Goods

I am posting a few more pictures than normal because it's too hard to choose. I am trying to make sure that I equally "show off" the boys! I will probably make a "smilebox" and post that, but I am not sure how those will print when I print the blog into a book. I am hoping to do that after I have Disney pictures in Mid July! I can't believe it's already nearing the end of June! Summer is flying by, but we are loving every minute!!!

Our view for the week!

Our "fish child" loves the water!

Logan being silly with his frisbee!

Austin taking a (very brief) moment to pose for me before going out in the water!

Logan playing in the waves!
A storm cloud that blew over! We thought we were going to get to see a storm over the ocean, but it quickly passed and all we got to see was the cloud.

Yesterday was the first day we have picked from our garden! So far, we have only been able to pick tomatoes, but we have cucumbers, watermelon, peppers, and squash/zucchini all growing. It won't be long and we'll get to pick some more. This has been Logan's little project! The tomatoes were VERY good today in our salad. Austin even ate them (he doesn't normally eat tomatoes) and kept telling Logan that he grows good food! Of course, our little man was very proud! I'll have to take pictures of our actual garden to show you all. The little watermelon are SO cute!

Beach Trip with Pictures of Trip to Come

While Roger was out of town, I took the boys for pictures as an early Father's Day surprise. I just love that place because they always capture some great pictures! Of course, that makes it hard to decide what to buy! So here are a few from that shoot!

Last week at the beach I left my camera in my sister's bag...so until I see her tomorrow I won't have pictures to post from our recent trip. The boys had a blast at the beach! I am really glad that Logan got over his "fear" of water in the face last week before we went. He was right in that ocean water jumping waves and trying to go out as far as his big brother the entire time! We were able to find lots of shark teeth and Austin collected quite a few neat shells! Logan's favorite thing to find were "mudbugs" (not sure of the real name for the little things) in the tide pools and even crabs! One day there was a huge one right by his feet while we was laying in the water. I went to pick it up thinking it was a rock until I saw it's big blue claws! Then, instead of grabbing the "rock" I grabbed him away.

While we were there, Logan (with the help of a little girl a little older than him) learned how to go under water and stay there holding his breath! Then, he learned how to swim underwater too (or "Swum" as he says)! He had to show EVERYONE in the pool. It's exciting to see them do new things but also a little sad! I think they are both at the age where I can really see them growing up right in front of my eyes! I no longer have a toddler for sure! I'll be taking him for his 4 yr old shots soon and then signing him up for school. We already have him registered for Springdale Baptist Preschool (where Austin went), but we may have a 4 yr old program at my school in the fall so we are going to try to get him there if he can. He's really excited about the possibility of coming to school with Austin and me!

Austin had fun looking for "hot ladies" (he'd die if he knew I posted that!)! He really did like swimming in the ocean! Not sure where he gets that from because I do not like swimming where I can't see what's around me. We had a school of sting ray (4 of them) our last day there that kept sufacing part of their fins (looking like shark fins!!!) that kept everyone out the water for quite a while. He enjoyed using his camera on the pier, and he can't wait to start editing videos with Uncle Mike! He is also very interested in the guitar so we may be getting him one for his birthday along with some lessons! ;) Well, I hope to post beach pictures tomorrow when I get my camera back. I just didn't want to put off posting anything!

So, summer has officially begun, and I am starting to think that my two boys are part fish because they want to stay out at the pool ALL day! So far the weather has cooperated wonderfully! I can't believe that two days ago Logan would have no part of water being splashed in his face OR his floaties being off (even though he learned how to swim last year)and now he's swimming all over and jumping in...even off the diving board with absolutely no help! He's even been brave enough to create some "crazy jumps" of his own (trying to mimic Austin and Brantlee) Austin has learned how to dive too! I am SO loving summer so far, and already know that it will fly by way to fast! I absolutely love being with my boys all day!

We've gotten lots accomplished so far too! We've gotten our Disney trip, Logan's party, and Austin's party on our calendars! Since Logan's b-day is on Christmas Day, we've decided to start celebrating with friends around his half birthday. He wants to have a pool party like his big brother, and that's a little hard to in December in SC! And, December is such a hard time to get everyone together....so, summer b-day parties here we come!

Here are a few pics I snapped before Roger left for Greenville on Sunday of him and the boys. He's there for a class for work, and we can't wait until he comes home Wednesday!!!

See What We Have Going On...
