Butterflies in My Classroom

Last year Logan was a little scared of the butterflies fluttering around in the tent...obviously he's overcome that fear! :) k
Mom, There's something in my eye...ha! Austin has ALWAYS liked being in the butterfly tent! One of my FAVORITE things about teaching 2nd Grade is when we get our caterpillars come in and we get to watch them change into butterflies! The coolest part is the "butterfly tent" we have that allows students (and my OWN kids!!!) to get in and experience butterflies up close and personal! It is always a favorite memory of my students, and, of course, by me too! I always get AMAZING photos of my students (and my OWN kids) with the butterflies!!! Too good not to share!!! I can't believe our big guy "graduates" from elementary school next week! I am going to try (really hard) not to shed any tears at their 5th grade ceremony next Friday! Our little man will finish up his last week in kindergarten! Where does the time go? They are growing up SO fast, but I can tell ya I am loving EVERY minute I have had with them! Those two boys are "OUR HEARTS!" Love them to pieces!!!

Logan's Field Trip to the Zoo

Logan had his field trip to the zoo on Friday, and you would have thought he had never been to the zoo before by the way he was (SUPER) excited about going! He could not wait to be there with HIS friends! I am very glad I was able to go with him! I got lots of great pictures...here are a few!
One of the first things we did was feed the birds. IF this is something you like to do, I highly suggest you do this when you first get there (as the zoo opens)! ALL the birds were active and wanted some of the nectar! The swooped in on Logan pretty quickly! He LOVED it!!!
I can't go to the zoo and NOT feed the giraffes! This is my FAVORITE part of Riverbanks Zoo! I love how close you can get to some of the animals...especially these beautiful things!
Here's a group shot of Logan and his class. Mrs. Pollock and Mrs. Branham have been amazing!!! Logan LOVES going to school, and he's made so much progress this year! So proud of how well he's doing!
Some of Logan's friends...Timmy, Braeden, and Reed!
And, this is the face Logan made when I told him Austin still had two hours of school left (as we were leaving the zoo). Can you tell he has enjoyed his day with Momma!?! Don't worry, Austin, we get to go on your field trip to Charleston on Thursday!

Thunderbirds

Last weekend we (me & the boys) headed out to Shaw Airforce Base with Uncle Mike, Rikki, Michael, and Robert to see the Thunderbirds. It was a great show- yet again! Everytime I go (I know I went at least twice when I was younger, and we went two years ago with the boys too!) to this show, I am amazed at all those pilots can manuever those planes to do! Being here, seeing those planes & all the military people/families, and equipment up close and personal always reminds me how lucky we are to live here in the USA...and how thankful I am to all those who have a hand in our freedom!
Here are a couple of the support crew for the Thunderbirds.
Me and my boys! Love them to pieces (infinity infinities as Logan says!!!)
Here they go...show time!
Not the Thunderbirds, but one of my favorite pictures of the day!
All the boys with Uncle Mike with one of the Airforce planes!

Trooper in the Pool

The boys have been BEGGING to take Trooper swimming. We had to wait for the water to warm up enough for him (the boys have been in the pool since the beginning of April). I must say, Trooper let the boys take him in, but as soon as they turned him lose, he headed for the steps and ran away from them. I don't think we have to worry about him trying to swim on his own. He looks so much smaller when all his hair is wet. :)

See What We Have Going On...
