Family Strawberry Picking Time

So the last day of Spring Break (excluding the weekend), Roger got to take off from work and be with us (BIG yay!!!). Logan was super excited to have his Daddy come pick strawberries with us. I think between the four of us, we ate at least half a bucket! Logan continued his quest from last year...to find ONLY the biggest strawberries for his basket. Austin continued his quest...to find only "perfect" strawberries for his. ALL of them taste yummy! We've got lots stored and ready in the freezer, sliced and chilled in the fridge, and still some left on the counter in a basket so you can grab one as you walk by! Who can resist? Not me!
Proof that we didn't take them all...ha!

My three guys hard at work!

Logan "double-fisted" eating...ha!

Our two little hearts (or not so little, really)!!!

Long Time, No See (Part 3)

This year we celebrated Easter slightly different! We changed it up and did a big dinner Saturday evening...followed by dying eggs with lots of cousins and then doing a flashlight egg hunt! This made it fun for even the bigger kids! For sure a tradition I think we'll keep! It was hard to take pictures in the pitch dark, so I didn't get many good shots while they were doing the actual egg hunt, but I took some before and after! :)
Logan and his "picture eyes!"

This year we got the kits that came with little paint/dye ouches (pre-mixed) and different little clear bags for each egg. You just put an egg in the bag with a few drops of paint stuff and rub around....pretty and EASY!!!

Austin was slightly annoyed that Brantlee found ALL the big money eggs...she got the $10 egg and TWO $5 eggs too!

Here's Logan stretched out with all his findings!!!

And, here's one of our two boys on Easter Morning...after plundering through their Easter baskets (thanks for the new bathing suits, swim shirts, and Rainbow Flip Flops Easter Bunny!!!) and getting the new Star Wars Konnect game from us...let the fun begin! :) Loving Spring Break with my two boys!!! This is the first one in two years I haven't had school stuff to do, and gosh, I have missed this JUST family time!!! Can't wait for summer now!!!

Long Time, No See (Part 2)

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL for our Spring Break, a little cooler than normal (so no swimming this week), but still GREAT!!! We all went to the Zoo on Monday, and as always, a fabulous time was had by all! I really do think our zoo is one of the best! I LOVE how you can feed the giraffes (and Brantlee does too...ask her about her giraffe experience the next time you see her!). I got a lot of great shots of Logan with "Chrissy," the giraffe. Here are a few of our pictures from the day!

As a mom (and as a teacher) I LOVE when I see either of my boys applying what they have learned. Without anyone asking him too, Logan was reading the signs all on his own. When I noticed what he was doing, I walked over closer to listen, and it just melted my heart! He got almost every word right, and was so proud to have read it by himself!!! Awesome!!!

So glad, we have the same Spring Break! Cara and Brantlee with both our boys! Flamingos are pretty, but they sure don't smell pretty!

Here's that awesome giraffe, Chrissy! She stayed with Logan for quite a while! So neat!!!

Love these two with ALL my heart!!! You can't even tell they were giving each other a hard time right before I snapped this picture! :)

Group shot with Uncle Mike! Glad he's got a membership that lets us all go!!! What a great day!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Long Time, No See (Part 1)

Well, those of you that know me, know that I am not typically a reader. I know, how can I be a teacher and not like to read!?! I LOVE children's books, and can read those ALL day long, but typically I don't like to read "grown up" books myself. Austin wanted to see the movie of the Hunger Games, and I told him I would take him to see it IF he read the book first. Then, I thought I should read it before he did to make sure it was appropriate for him to read. I could not put his Kindle down! I read that whole book in about a day (Friday evening and Saturday morning)! It was FABULOUS!!! Roger and Austin have both read it too, and we all saw the movie last weekend. FABULOUS!!! Since reading it, Austin has taking a liking to archery....so, Grandmother and Pa-Paw treated him to his new bow! He's been loving it!!!

Well, Logan lost another tooth. This is his 2nd one. He pulled this one out himself riding in the car after a soccer game. He was quite proud, and decided to leave the Tooth Fairy a note... (quite cute, if I say so myself)!

We couldn't find their tooth pillow we usually use, so Logan put his tooth in the big blue egg. Love his little note....

See What We Have Going On...
